Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park offers a strong wilderness experience across varied landscapes. You move from the Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep escarpments. The park is known for its tree climbing lions and large elephant herds, protected here for decades.

The lake attracts over 400 bird species, including waterfowl and seasonal migrants. You also find buffalo, cheetah, Masai giraffe, and impala along the shores and forested slopes. Wildlife viewing stays active throughout the park.

A safari here gives you more than game drives. You explore groundwater forests, Vachellia tortilis woodlands, and the hot springs known as Maji Moto. Large troops of olive baboon move through the area, along with Sykes’ monkey and short-eared galago. Other wildlife includes Cape clawless otter, Egyptian mongoose, hippopotamus, and klipspringer.
